How to Select a Different Language to Edit Content Optimization Descriptions
SEOWILL allows you to edit SEO content for multiple languages by syncing directly with the languages configured in your Shopify store. Below is a step-by-step explanation of how language selection works and what you can edit in each language.
How Language Sync Works
Once you add additional languages in your Shopify Admin, SEOWILL will automatically sync those language options.
To switch languages in SEOWILL:
- Go to Content Optimization.
- Open any page or product.
- Choose Language in the upper-left corner of the editor to choose the language you want to edit.

Important: SEOWILL Does Not Translate Content
SEOWILL does not perform automatic translations.
- Our app only displays and edits content that already exists in your Shopify Admin.
- If your store uses a third-party translation app (such as Localize or other localization plugins), the translated content will be synced into Shopify.
- Once Shopify contains the translated versions, switching languages in SEOWILL → Content Optimization will simply show the translated content provided by Shopify.
What You Can Edit in Non-Primary Languages
When working with a language other than your store’s primary language, SEOWILL allows you to edit the following four fields only:
- Product title
- Product description
- Meta title
- Meta description
If these fields meet your optimization needs, no additional translation app is required.
However, if you need to translate or edit more elements (such as product variants, options, or other storefront content), we recommend using a dedicated translation app to complete the process.
Meta Title & Meta Description Requirements
In SEOWILL, meta title and meta description must first be created in the primary language before they can be edited in other languages.
Please note:
- If the primary language meta fields are empty, the corresponding fields in other languages will appear greyed out and non-editable.
- Once you add the meta title and meta description in the primary language, the fields for other languages will automatically become available for editing.
