What will happen if the merchant archive/draft an active link and republish the archived/draft link again?
When an active product or page is archived or set to draft, its URL will temporarily return a 404 error. SEOWILL will detect this change as a broken link.
Please note the following behavior:
- Once the page becomes a draft or archived, the URL is detected as a 404 error in SEOWILL.
- If Auto-Redirect is enabled, the 404 URL will be automatically redirected to the configured target page.
- If you later republish the product or page, the original URL will become active again.
- Any previously created redirection for that URL will become invalid, and the original product/page URL will resume as the final live destination.
This ensures that once content is restored, visitors are directed back to the correct original page.
If you have questions about redirect behavior or need help managing archived content, please contact the SEOWILL Support Team.
